Rafting
on Una River
Bosnia and Herzegovina
. . . it commences on Fridays . . .
with an early departure from SKOK SPORT CENTRE
in Ljubljana. The road takes us through Slovene towns of Novo
mesto and Metlika where we cross into Croatia. On we continue
to the city of Karlovac and on to Bosnian town of Bihać where
we should arrive in the evening hours. We will stay the night
at annex of the Hotel Sedra located in the sports park of
the town of Bihac. The diner will be a local affair, mainly
meats done on the spit and grill…great tasting affair indeed,
but if you are a vegetarian we can organize that too…some
fun and talks all around and it is bed time.

After a large breakfast we head on to the world
known and truly magnificent waterfalls of the Strbacki
Buk (translated Strbaćki noise). The falls are part of uniqueness
of River Una and here is where we start with the rafting
side
of our adventure. Some four hours of excitement and adrenaline
full period on the rafts where we will negotiate a numerous
rapids between III and IV degrees of difficulty we will reach
the village of Ripac. There we will be served a late lunch
or early diner, followed by some fun and entertainment then
return to the hotel and some well deserved rest.

and mosques, and other bits . . .
After breakfast we head for the town of Bihac
proper. To get the feel of the times gone by in this ancient
town, a short walk through the old city is a must. Have a
seat in an old coffee establishment, and taste the baklava,
take a peak at the old mosques and minarets, old water mills
and few other things, and the morning will turn to noon very
quickly. Just about noon we well push of for our drive back
to Slovenia. Along the way we will stop for a late (again)
lunch and reach Ljubljana in the evening hours.
