River
Kolpa Kayak - Canoe Safari
a
two day program
In the morning - at 8am the meeting is at SKOK SPORT
CENTRE in the suburb of Ljubljana. After
equipping the participants with the safety gear and preparing
the kayaks and mini-rafts and all other things that are required
we set of in a mini bus or in an eight seater passenger van
towards the River Kolpa. Two hours later we will arrive to
the village of ®lebe the starting point of our 2 days adventure.
After distributing the equipment and going through the basic
instructions how to paddle we start. The travel down the greenery
of Kolpa will last a few hours. When we reach the village
of Dol pod Starim trgom we will stop. The hosts at the local
camping site Konda will be waiting for us with a substantial
and delicious diner. There will be a drink or two of excellent
local drop of wine and then it is of to bed in a typical Slovenian
hayloft. Yes, in a hayloft – the best sleep in the softest
hay.
The second day of this safari after a hearty breakfast will
see us reaching the most beautiful part of the River Kolpa.
Full of energy we paddle through a canyon like valley, wild
and wooded and almost uninhibited; there are a few stops
along
the way for a rest and a refreshing swim. Few hours later
we reach a camping site Katra (Catherine) at Vinica where
our adventure comes to and end. There is a late lunch waiting
for us and then a return road trip to Ljubljana where we
will
arrive in the evening.
Such a weekend program includes:
- Road transport from Ljubljana to the river and back.
- Accommodation in a hayloft.
- Diner.

- 1x packed lunch.
- 1 late lunch.
